Discovery Kids is reshaping its content strategy to keep pace with the evolving entertainment preferences of today’s children. With smartphones, gaming and online videos competing for their attention, the network is focusing on stronger storytelling, engaging characters and experiences beyond television screens.
At the centre of this strategy is Rise of Anshaks: Heroes of Destiny, a crossover series featuring Chhota Bheem and Little Singham. Sai Abhishek, Head of Content – Kids TV Networks, South Asia, at Warner Bros. Discovery, also highlighted the need for greater representation of female characters in children’s programming.
The company is strengthening audience engagement through school outreach programmes, mall activations, interactive workshops and character-based activities. Initiatives such as “Heroes of Kindness” and “Titans of Tomorrow” encourage children to participate in creative and educational experiences beyond screen time.
To compete with short-form videos and digital platforms, Warner Bros. Discovery is also investing in richer narratives, improved animation and more layered superhero stories. The success of Origin of Bheem demonstrates that children continue to respond to fresh storytelling and deeper character development.
Meanwhile, the company maintains distinct identities for its three kids’ networks: Pogo focuses on Indian heroes, Cartoon Network features international animated content, and Discovery Kids caters to audiences through locally relevant shows.
Through these initiatives, Discovery Kids aims to remain relevant to modern young viewers while creating meaningful connections with children and their parents.
