Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale recorded a 20–22% year-on-year increase in buyers, orders and units sold, while unique visitors grew by nearly 10%, according to the company.

The 11-day sale, which began on October 9, 2026, witnessed strong demand across categories, including beauty, personal care, lifestyle and large appliances. Buyers in Beauty, Grooming and General Merchandise increased by 40%, while Lifestyle buyers grew 12.5%. Large appliance sales rose 30% year-on-year during the opening hour, with demand for big-ticket products reaching nearly nine times normal levels throughout the sale.

Gen Z shoppers accounted for almost half of all buyers, while approximately 60% came from Tier 2 cities and smaller markets, highlighting the growing contribution of younger consumers and emerging regions to festive online shopping.

Flipkart Minutes, the company’s quick-commerce service, also saw new customer additions reach 1.7 times the usual level. Demand expanded beyond daily essentials to products such as laptops, gaming tablets and air fryers in cities including Nagpur, Meerut, Jabalpur and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

The sale also benefited sellers and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Around 31% of transacting sellers achieved twice their usual business, while sellers in Tier 2 cities and beyond recorded 2.15 times their normal business levels.

Among individual markets, sellers in Bhiwadi recorded 2.6 times their usual business, followed by Panipat at 2.5 times, Tirupur at 2.1 times and Hisar at twice their regular levels.

Flipkart also reported strong customer retention, with nearly nine out of 10 shoppers who visited the platform during the opening hour returning to make purchases during the 11-day event.
